Project: We Are One

With the scheduled launch of Project: We Are One almost a week away, I figured now would be a good time to write a quick blog about our upcoming project as well as what Niko and I will be attempting to achieve while on the road.

Project: We Are One is The Mako Project’s second adventure of hopefully many more to come. For this trip we are acquiring an RV, and setting out on an adventure to the west coast and back surviving off the kindness of strangers we meet along the way.

This RV (or old retired school bus we have fitted to be semi-livable) Will be the staple of this trip as we will be asking people to sign it all along the road as a mobile petition of unity and acceptance.

We will be bartering services relevant to our passions, be it filming, graphic design, etc., as well as working and helping our fellow man in any way possible in order to collect food and gas to allow us to advance on our journey.

Whilst on the road getting by on the kindness of others and bartering when possible, we will be challenging ourselves by completing works in our own artistic fields. For myself it will be my book: En Title/Lighten Ment, and Niko will be releasing an Ep of music, both of which will be inspired by our trip and the experiences we gather on the way. We will also be releasing both with the debut of the documentary for this trip.

More important than all of that, of course, is the inspiration we hope to spread to others by showing that it is possible to do what you love by living passionately about your dreams, and compassionately toward your fellow man. While on the road we will be talking in schools, and giving workshops in film making and song writing.

Like our facebook and follow us on tumblr to stay up to date on videos we will be releasing weekly once we hit the road as well as weekly podcasts and a new feature we call “Mako People” where we interview people who selflessly provide a great service to society, or bravely go against the grain to follow their dreams.
